Proper dental hygiene is important for us humans, let alone for our furry friends that use their sharp teeth not only for chomping down yummy food but also for chewing pretty much anything else, according to their level of enthusiasm or curiosity, from sofas to our latest super expensive pair of shoes. According to the estimate of CeDIS Innovet (Centre for Scientific Documentation and Innovation), 80% of dogs and 74% of cats have some kind of problem in their mouth or teeth.
Why is it that our dogs love hiding under the dining table or the coffee table? Because they’re instinctively den animals. They love lurking in narrow places that make them feel well hidden and therefore safe. The carrier can become a fantastic den, to be used not only for travel purposes, but also at home.
There are apps for everything these days. Some are more useful than others, and we have tested several pet-related apps. Today we’ll be talking about Amici Onlus, which helps you go on holidays without particular worries by providing you a list of hotels, bars and veterinarians closest to you.
Created by Amici Onlus, an association that has been fighting pet abandonment for years and raising awareness about pet issues, is a must-have app for anyone who owns a pet.
Very intuitive and easy to use, and available for free for iOS and Android, it uses the AmiciAdvisor service to consult or post comments and pictures of the more than 6,500 pet-friendly hotels and restaurants contained in the search engine. The initiative was sponsored by the Office of the Prime Minister. Thanks to this app, you can plan your vacations and your free time in the company of your pet, using the interactive map to select the closest pet-friendly venue for you. User reviews and photographs are also very useful. There’s also a small area dedicated to news, continuously updated by Amici Onlus. Fear not: it is possible to go away with our pets for the first spring weekend.
Today we’ll be visiting Ferplast’s Quality Control Department, which is actually the most transversal section of the entire company. We’ll meet the manager, Mr. Andrea Berizzi, who will be explaining to us this delicate “mission” that he and others are in charge of.
A Hamlet-like doubt for dog owners: what’s the safest choice? We asked a veterinarian, an animal expert and a Ferplast customer. These are their different opinions, as it looks like there’s no absolute truth in this case.
