BEST OF SEPTEMBER, THE LITTLE CREATURES WE LOVE

Birds and rodents that keep us company, the best of September

If you thought we had forgotten about our “Instagram’s favourites” feature, well, you’re wrong! On the contrary, this time we have a lovely surprise in store for all of you who love the smaller creatures that keep us company: rodents and birds are the stars of the BEST OF SEPTEMBER!

Adorable little faces, bright eyes and lovely  long whiskers, mice, hamsters, guinea pigs and rabbits are an increasingly popular type of four-legged household pet suitable for young and old alike.  Not only, but they are on par with their larger pet cousins when it comes to their willingness to provide their owners with joy and affection.

Rats, mice and hamsters are especially intelligent, loyal and active creatures and this means they need to be constantly stimulated with little toys and physical activity, which is why their cages are always so colourful and filled with plenty of fun objects and things to play with. After all, that’s what they spend their time doing!  Just look at what a marvellous home for Hamsters Ferplast’s Criceti 15 is, a modular habitat ready to be connected to other living units, with tubes and accessories…  it’s got it all!

Guinea pigs love physical contact not just with other guinea pigs, but with their owners, and they love to be spoken to in soft, calming tones. Although they love to run around the house when we’re there, they do need a place they can call their own when we go out. Their favourite is the Casita cage, the ideal size for them to fully enjoy, a veritable villa for rodents. Aside from the cage, guinea pigs also need a place they can hide in when they’ve been frightened or simply want some down time by themselves, and the ones with the sloped roof Ferplast makes using Free Friend wood is, to say the least, perfect for them!

Rabbits are probably the softest and furriest creatures on earth, and they can melt the hearts of even the coolest customers!  Rabbits love to run around and you need to let them out of the cage and play in the garden regularly so they can stretch their legs and get some fresh air. When they’re still little make sure they have plenty of clean, fresh straw at the back of the cage so that they can stay nice and warm. Isn’t this little puff of fur adorable!

Last but not at all least, a feast of colour is provided by our much loved birds: canaries, parrots and cockatiels can all live happily together, under the right conditions.  These two seen to get along just fine, don’t they!?

Ferplast’s big round Bali cage is a proper castle, comes with all the trimmings – like a swing and water dish – and offers just the right setting for this particular feathered friend, don’t you think!?
